Event Details

The Scottish Rite Oakland Club will be meeting Monday, January 8, 2024 at 6:30 pm.  The location is 1043 Hartland Ave in Troy (2 streets North of 16-Mile where Hartland branches to the East, home of The Brotherhood Lodge and Trelum Lodge Meetings).

It will be a potluck evening and we are asking attendees to bring a dish or serving to pass.  If you are able to attend, please send a short reply with some indication of your potluck intentions (i.e. casserole, salade, rolls, chili, soup, pizza, jimmy johns-like or dessert).  Suggestions on drinks/refreshments are welcome.  We are renting the use of the Lodge Building at a cost of $50.  It will be incumbent upon us to leave the temple as clean or better than we find it.  There will be some form of collection dish or hat to voluntarily cover the rent until we decide as a club how we would like to handle future meetings if we continue to meet at that location.

We will follow a traditional agenda to include opening and closing prayers as well as a pledge of allegiance.  There will be a short presentation on the origins of Scottish Rite as part of our agenda.  Finally, there will be some form of a drawing for a new paperback Bestseller:  “Relic Hunters”, by David Leadbeater.

The meeting is open to attendance by Scottish Rite Freemasons and their guests.  Please be patient as we adjust our routine to the likes of your preferences.

Jim McPherson, President of the Oakland Club
